On Monday, February 2, the Archidiocese of Krakow and Telewizja Polska S.A. (Polish public television broadcaster) signed a special Agreement of mutual cooperation during the World Youth Days Krakow 2016. Pursuant to this document, TVP has become the official broadcaster of WYD in Krakow, as well as a partner in preparations for the big event.
The two signatories to the Agreement- Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Krakow, and Juliusz Braun, the president of the TVP S.A., expressed their hope that this cooperation will allow many young people from Poland, and those from abroad, find WYD a worthy and fruitful experience. After all, Public Television’s and the Polish Church’s common missions want the best for young people, throughout Poland, and the world. Both parties are deeply convinced that the actions undertaken in this spirit will have helped to create the atmosphere of hospitality and co-responsibility for the World Youth Days across Poland, as well as abroad. The two also hope that the cooperation between Telewizja Polska and the Organizing Committee of WYD 2016 will be an unprecedented tool for promoting Poland throughout the world.
The document is more general in nature, however, it indicates specific areas of cooperation (promotion, information and relay) and forms of its implementation: programs and whole series of news and current affairs programs.
The Agreement shall come into force on the date of signature. From July 2015 onward, the year before the World Youth Days, the actions will be intensified to communicate all the phases of preparation.
