World Youth Day in Krakow is just around the corner. Two hectic weeks of preparation and hard work as volunteers ahead of you, but also of incredible time to which – no doubt about that – you will look back many times. We would like you to make the most of this special meeting, and that’s why we have prepared for you spiritual guide through the week preceding central events of Word Youth Day 2016, that is 18 – 24 July.
Starting on Monday, 18th July, there will be daily morning Masses & Prayers held in churches located nearby your accommodation sites, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Starting your day with a prayer will keep you going all day long, so don’t hesitate to join us!
Above all, we would like to invite you to the Opening Holy Mass which will be organized on 20th July, at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow – Łagiewniki. The Mass will start at 6 p.m. Shortly before the Mass we will pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
For those who would like to approach the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation we have prepared the Zone of Reconciliation. It will be available to you before the Opening Holy Mass on Wednesday (July 20), at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow – Łagiewniki, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. On other days (July 21 - 23) the Zone of Reconciliation will be set up at St. Mark’s church, and it will be available to you from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the Zone of Reconciliation priests will hear confessions in both Polish and foreign languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian).
In case some of you would like “to spend some time alone with Jesus” and pray before the Blessed Sacrament in silent consideration, or individually study the Bible, you will have the possibility to do so in the Zone of Silence, which will be established at St. Mark’s church, from Monday (July 18) till Saturday (July 23), except from Wednesday (July 20). The Zone of Silence at St. Mark’s church will be opened from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At the end of the day we have prepared for you Evening Prayers, which will begin with a retreat on Monday and Tuesday (July 18 – 19), at the church of Our Lady of Lourdes (in Miasteczko Studenckie AGH). The retreat will be preached by the priest Mirosław Maliński. On the remaining days Evening Prayers will be animated by local communities, and already at this point we would like to invite you to participate in the Way of the Cross, which will be held on Friday (July 22) at the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow – Łagiewniki.

If anyone of you would like to do the readings or singing during daily Masses and Prayers, please contact the reception desk at your accommodation sites. We can’t wait to see you in Krakow!
