Representatives of the World Youth Day Krakow 2016 Organization Committee and the youth from the Archdiocese of Krakow will be attending Pope Francis’s visit to Turin (Italy) on July 20th and July 21st.
The delegation will begin this journey Friday, June 19th by celebrating Mass at Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Consolation with archbishop Cesare Nosiglia of Turin.
This trip to Turin will be a great occasion to invite all of those who will be attending to come to St John Paul II’s city, that is Krakow, for the next World Youth Day.
“This gathering of youth before the Shroud of Turin and St. John Bosco’s relics will be a little version of WYD,” explains archbishop Cesare Nosiglia of Turin. “…there will be gatherings, prayers and of course celebrations near the WYD cross, all the components of Church life.” On Sunday June 21st, Pope Francis will lead Mass in the Vittoria Veneto Plaza in the center of Turin and later meet with all of those gathered at the WYD cross along with the Icon of St. Mary Salus Populi Romani that will be transported on this occasion all the way from Krakow. In Turin, alongside the relics of St. John Bosco are the remains of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati that will be found in Krakow during WYD in the Dominican’s Holy Trinity Basilica.World Youth Day is fast approaching, we only have 400 days left. Registration for all determined pilgrims will begin in July and we expect young people from all over the world.
