01. What is the Youth Festival?

The Youth Festival is part of the official program of World Youth Day, during which young people from the whole world will have a chance to present their artistic talents. As part of the Festival there are various kinds of cultural events planned, including: concerts, performances, exhibitions, soccer tournaments. The Vocations Center is also part of the Youth Festival.

02. What is the theme of the Youth Festival during World Youth Day in Krakow?

The main topic of the Youth Festival is the theme of World Youth Day in Krakow: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Matthew 5:7).

03. When will the Youth Festival take place?

The most important events of the Youth Festival during WYD Krakow 2016 will take place from Tuesday (26.07) to Friday (29.07). You will be able to take part in the events of the Festival between the Catechesis and the Central Events.

04. Where will the events of the Youth Festival take place?

The Youth Festival will take place in various parts of Krakow: at squares, plazas, in parks, and also in a few enclosed spaces (for example, in movie theaters). The events of the Youth Festival will take place in locations near to where pilgrims will be accommodated.

05. Will people with disabilities be able to take part in the Youth Festival?

Yes. The program of the Youth Festival will try to also respond to the needs of people with disabilities. The Youth Festival Section is making every effort that they would be able to take part in the cultural events presented.

06. Is there a participation fee for the Youth Festival?

No, events organized as part of the Youth Festival are free of charge.

07. Who can apply?

We invite people, groups and communities to contribute to the Youth Festival – not only professional artists – who through their artistic abilities wish to express their faith in Christ.
